Rules for payments to laboratory workers will be changed in Kazakhstan
Правила выплат работникам лабораторий изменят в Казахстане 16.05.2020

Health Minister Yelzhan Birtanov    announced this on his Facebook page.

“While someone is resting, doctors are working... Today I visited the zonal virology laboratory of the capital of the National Center of Expertise. These are the same experienced virologists, laboratory assistants and specialists who work around the clock, taking samples for coronavirus infection. This is the place where They bring samples of patients and contacts from city clinics, ambulances, medical workers and military units for PCR testing around the clock.

I met with the team, discussed the issue of additional payments. We decided that it was necessary to make changes to the rules of payments to laboratory employees, since they work in constant contact with potentially infected patients and their biosamples,” Birtanov wrote.

The minister noted that at the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, colleagues performed 600 tests, now - about 2,000 per day. All data is entered into the laboratory information system (LIS). Intensive work is being carried out to integrate LIS with the information systems of hospitals and clinics in order to automate epidemic management.

Let us recall that on March 30, the State Commission approved the decision to establish a monthly fixed salary increase for medical workers involved in anti-epidemic measures. More details about the amounts can be found here .
