Since the beginning of 2023, 31,917 tests for measles have been carried out in the laboratories of the RSE at the RSE “National Center of Expertise” of the KSEK of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As of November 30 this year, there have been 17,667 positive cases, more than the total for all of 2022.
The largest number of positive results were detected in the cities of Shymkent (2,921), Almaty (2,787), as well as in Almaty (2,133), Mangistau (1,685), Zhambyl (1,522), Atyrau (1,458) regions.
Currently, all NCE branches are provided with test systems for detecting measles; every day, specialists from virology laboratories are working to identify this virus.
Let us remind you that measles prevention is primarily vaccination. According to the national vaccination calendar of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the measles vaccine is administered to children aged 12-15 months and 6 years.

The sharp increase in the incidence of measles in the country is due to unvaccinated children, whose share amounted to 84% or 9,216 cases of the number of sick children.
