Today in Astana, within the framework of the FAO/WHO Codex Trust Fund project, a conference was held on the topic: “Codex Alimentarius. Results, lessons learned, successes.”
The conference is the final event of the project, which was aimed at building sustainable national capacity in the field of Codex Alimentarius.
The conference was attended by heads of government agencies and representatives of international organizations FAO, WHO, OIE.
Conference participants spoke about current food safety issues and discussed joint approaches to improving the safety and quality of life of the population.
The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Board of the National Center of Expertise KSEC Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erlan Kiyasov, noting that the conference being held today will allow participants to share valuable experience in the field of food safety.
Having talked about the prospects for the development of NCE laboratories, Erlan Kiyasov emphasized the expansion of cooperation with international organizations and institutions in order to strengthen laboratories to ensure the availability of high-quality laboratory diagnostics in all key processes of detection, response and monitoring in the field of public health.
“The National Center of Expertise strives to strengthen its position among leading laboratories and maintain its leading position in operational indicators,” added the Chairman of the NCE Board.
At the end of his speech, he also drew attention to the significant contribution made by NCE in implementing the obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Europe to the Codex Commission.
