Национальный центр экспертизы проводит сезонную обработку от клещей в Алматы 14.04.2025

Large-scale anti-tick measures aimed at protecting the population from tick-borne encephalitis continue in Almaty. This was reported by the director of the disinfection center of the National Center of Expertise for the city of Almaty, Ainura Akkoshkarova, at a press conference in the regional communications service.

“Conducting annual extermination measures in natural foci of tick-borne encephalitis in forest and city parks of Almaty is one of the key epidemiological measures,” the speaker emphasized.

She noted that according to the order of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control for Almaty No. 59-Ө dated March 18, 2025, the first treatment was scheduled for March 26. However, due to rain and high humidity, the work was postponed and began on March 31.

According to Ainura Akkoshkarova, two rounds of treatment are planned this year. The total area subject to disinfestation treatment is 4,733.12 hectares. 144,152,000 tenge have been allocated for these activities. One tour costs 72 million tenge.

She added that a new drug, Cypermethrin, is being used this year. The drug was purchased in the amount of 3,579.6 liters, with a consumption rate of 0.75 liters per hectare. To prevent ticks from becoming accustomed, the products are updated annually: in 2023, Favorit V.K.E. was used, and in 2024, Deltex.

The speaker reported that as of April 14, treatments were completed in the following districts: Alatau (2.93 hectares), Almalinsky (46.7 hectares), Auezovsky (17.97 hectares), Zhetysu (50.05 hectares), Nauryzbaysky (9.71 hectares), Bostandyksky (156 hectares).

Work continues in the Turksib (19.9 ha), Medeu (31.99 ha) districts, as well as in the forest areas of the Medeu (115.5 ha) and Bostandyk (140.3 ha) districts. The total area already treated is 591.064 ha.

“The work is being carried out by trained disinfectors and disinfectors, all specialists undergo regular training and are equipped with the necessary equipment,” noted the director of the NCE disinfection center for the city of Almaty.

According to her, today the disinfection center has two mobile teams equipped with hot and cold fog generators, hydro-guns, Fazenda sprayers, and vehicles. Three new units of equipment were purchased in 2025, and there are more than 5 thousand sets of personal protective equipment in stock.

Regular disinfestation and the use of modern drugs can reduce the risk of spreading tick-borne encephalitis and other infections, maintaining sanitary and epidemiological well-being in the city.
