The radiation safety training was held in the Akmola Region.

The branch of the National Center for Expertise in the Akmola Region conducted a training session on the topic: “Radiochemical Methods for the Analysis of Water and Food Products: Sample Preparation and Research Execution.”

The training aimed to enhance the professional skills of specialists in the sanitary and epidemiological service and focused on issues related to radiation monitoring and analysis.

The training was led by Kaldekesh Bekenova, a specialist in monitoring technical regulations at the Department of Methodological and Metrological Support of the National Center for Expertise. Another trainer was Karlygash Ashimova, a specialist from the sanitary and hygiene laboratory of the NCE branch in the Akmola Region. She had previously undergone advanced training in the field of radiochemical analysis of drinking water at the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Radiation Hygiene named after Prof. F.V. Ramzaev (Russia).

The training was attended by doctors, sanitary and epidemiological service specialists, and laboratory technicians from the radiological departments of various NCE branches.

Additionally, a tour was organized for the participants at the “Kokshetau Mineral Waters” JSC facility, where they were introduced to the production process and the water quality control system. The company collaborates with the NCE branch laboratory for production quality control of its products.

Such events contribute to strengthening the radiation safety system and improving the quality of sanitary and epidemiological supervision in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
