A training event was held at Almaty International Airport to assess the readiness of services to respond to public health emergencies.
The focus was on the detection and response to cases of especially dangerous infections such as cholera.
The drill involved specialists from the Disinfection Center and the Almaty branch of the National Center of Expertise, as well as representatives from the sanitary and epidemiological service, border and customs services, the airport police department, airport medical station, ambulance services, and medical organizations. The main objective was to practice interagency coordination and clear response protocols in the event of detecting infected passengers.
According to the drill scenario, a passenger arriving in the country displayed symptoms consistent with cholera. All procedures — from identifying signs of illness to organizing hospitalization and carrying out anti-epidemic and disinfection measures — were conducted in accordance with established standards.
Specialists from the National Center of Expertise demonstrated a high level of responsiveness and preparedness to address sanitary and epidemiological threats, as well as effective cooperation with other involved services.
Conducting such drills remains a vital part of preventive measures aimed at ensuring sanitary safety at the state border and protecting public health.
