By decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Toktasyn Kenzhekanovich Yerubayev, Director of the Department of Strategic Development and International Cooperation of the National Center for Expertise, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor, was awarded the state award "Kurmet."
This prestigious award was presented for many years of dedicated work and significant contributions to the development of the sanitary and epidemiological service, science, and the public healthcare system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Toktasyn Yerubayev has dedicated over 40 years to healthcare. Over the years of his professional career, he rose through the ranks from epidemiologist to national-level leadership, participating in the elimination of outbreaks of particularly dangerous infections, developing an epidemiological surveillance system, and strengthening the country's biological security.
As the author of over 110 scientific papers, several monographs, patents, and educational publications, Toktasyn Kenzhekanovich has made a significant contribution to the development of Russian science. During the COVID-19 pandemic, under his leadership, the first domestic PCR test systems for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 were developed, and research into the creation of national vaccines against coronavirus infection was initiated.
